Matt Cooper currently works as a non-executive chairman and/or director with a range of public and private companies. These include Octopus Capital Ltd, Imaginatik Plc, ClearlySo Ltd, VouchedFor Ltd, Tandem Bank, The National Centre for Circus Arts and IGF Invoice Finance Ltd.
Matt’s areas of expertise include corporate strategy formulation, brand and marketing and implementation, organisational culture and design, and executive coaching and leadership.
Previously, Matt was Principal Managing Director of Capital One Bank Europe plc until leaving the company in 2001.
Originally from New Jersey, Matt graduated first in his class in Chemistry from Princeton University in 1988.
John Onslow is an industry veteran and brings a wealth of experience to his role as Chief Executive of the IGF Group. In April 2016, John led the Management Buy Out/Buy In of IGF, and brought with him colleagues to develop the Asset Based Lending side of the business.
He is a former Chairman of ABFA (The Asset Based Finance Association) and co-founder of Centric Commercial Finance, where he was CEO through to its sale to Shawbrook Bank. Under Shawbrook Bank’s ownership, he was a member of the executive team which ran the bank. Before founding Centric, John was COO of GE Commercial Finance and Deputy Group MD of NMB-Heller.
Nick joined IGF in January 2017 and brings considerable experience from his varied career in Financial Services in both Europe and Asia. Having qualified with KPMG he spent many years in Investment Banking with Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Cantor Fitzgerald before joining Close Brothers where his roles included Finance Director for the Commercial Division of the Lending Division the principal businesses of which included Asset Finance, Invoice Finance and Asset Based Lending. Most recently he was the Interim CFO for OakNorth Bank. He qualified with a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University.
Mark joined IGF in January 2017 and joins the management board as Managing Director. Starting his career from University Mark initially worked in the Corporate Banking Office for NatWest Bank in Manchester before joining Davenham Group where he became Regional Sales Director for the Trade Finance business. His career has taken in management roles within RBS Invoice Finance, Aldermore and Bibby where he was most recently MD for both Trade Finance and International Factoring businesses.
Specialising in Invoice Finance and Trade Finance within the SME sector, his expertise lies in helping clients to grow their businesses by working closely with them to find the right solutions for their funding requirements. Having worked in both smaller, niche businesses as well as larger corporates, he has developed an understanding of some of the challenges faced by SME business managers and owners; which can help in advising and supporting through times of challenge and opportunity.
Jon joined IGF as part of the acquisition team in April 2016. In his role, he heads the national business development activities for the Group.
Jon has over 20 years’ experience in both the Invoice Finance and Asset-Based Lending sector. During his career, he has worked for NMB Heller, GE Capital and, latterly, RBS Asset Based Lending. Jon has been involved in deals of all sizes and degrees of complexity in the UK and the US.
Matthew’s career began in underwriting, and he has worked in invoice finance since 1999. A member of the Institute of Credit, he joined IGF from Bibby Factors, where he was Head of Operations in Sussex. At IGF, he is responsible for overseeing operational risks and procedures.
Paul joined IGF in February 2017 to head up the Underwriting Team for the Group.
Paul has over 20 years experience in the industry and has held senior Portfolio, Risk and Commercial roles, most recently with Shawbrook Bank but also with GE Capital and NMB Heller.
Simon joined in October 2016 to develop and manage the Group’s client portfolio. Simon has been in the invoice finance and ABL sector for over 20 years working for NMB-Heller, GE Capital and Centric Commercial Finance (now Shawbrook).
Simon has a wide range of experience having worked with SME’s across various sectors through changing business cycles.
John joined IGF in April 2016 as part of the Management Buy In team. Previous roles saw John qualify as a banker working with small and medium-sized companies through to corporate-sized businesses. His experience at Lloyds Bank, GE Capital, RBS Invoice Finance and Metro Bank provided a strong grounding in technical aspects of funding, and a wide understanding of helping businesses grow and thrive.
John is qualified in psychology and undertaking a masters degree specialising in the workplace. He is particularly interested in how people make decisions, and cope with the ‘always on’ culture and environment of constant change. John has undertaken consultancy work for private equity firms to aid their understanding of the UK Asset Based Lending sector.
Alan joined IGF in May 2016 to launch our Asset Based Lending offering in Scotland. He has had a successful career with experience in audit, relationship management, new business and managing teams. Over the last 14 years, Alan has split his time between banks and independents, having worked for Clydesdale, Aldermore, GE and Bibby.
Jamie joined IGF in April 2017. He is the ABL Director for London and the South East and is responsible for business development in that area. Jamie has worked in the Asset Based Lending sector for 19 years and prior to that 15 years in Banking. Jamie has worked for numerous banks and independent providers including HSBC, GE Capital, Bank of Ireland and most recently Bibby. Additionally, Jamie also spent 4 years in the restructuring team at Smith & Williamson.
Jamie is experienced in working on deal sizes of all types and varieties including transactions, refinance and restructuring as well as start-ups and refinance.
Jeff joined IGF in July 2016. He is the ABL Director for North London & Home Counties, and responsible for business development in that area. Jeff has been in the Asset Based Lending sector for 16 years. During this time, he has worked for various banks and independent providers including Five Arrows Commercial Finance, Centric Commercial Finance, and Close Brothers Commercial Finance.
Jeff is experienced in working on deals of all sizes and types, including Management Buy Outs, Management Buy Ins, acquisition, refinance, and turnaround.
Maxine joined IGF in November 2016 to lead our business development activity for Asset Based Lending in the Thames Valley and South West markets. Before this, Maxine worked for 5 years with Centric Commercial Finance which became Shawbrook Bank and prior to that, she spent 23 years with Lloyds Commercial Finance and Lloyds Bank Plc.
A successful Asset Based Lending professional, Maxine is driven by helping companies grow by providing them with bespoke funding solutions. She is particularly experienced in contractual debt, assisting companies by structuring Asset Based funding solutions to facilitate increased working capital; Management Buy Outs; Buy Ins; acquisitions; turnaround finance; and refinance.
Richard joined IGF in August 2016 to lead our business development activity for the North of England. Before this, Richard was with GE Capital’s Asset Based Lending business for 12 years. He has also worked in business development roles within the Bank and Asset-Based Lending functions of RBS Group.
Richard is an Asset Based Lending professional with more than 20 years’ experience helping companies grow using bespoke funding solutions that increase working capital. These include Management Buy Outs, acquisitions, turnaround finance and refinance.
Matt almost became a teacher but instead decided to follow a long family tradition and move into Invoice Finance. An experienced professional Matt has been working within the invoice finance arena for over a decade, helping SME’s to get the funding they need to grow & be successful.
Matt is passionate about growing businesses and has a background in both the independent and corporate markets. This has afforded him a tremendous knowledge of the IF sector, its credit functions, operations and service options.
Matt enjoys structuring and re-structuring lending facilities for companies across varied sectors. He’s worked in roles within ABN Amro Commercial Finance, Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice Finance and latterly was heavily involved in establishing Innovation Finance Ltd, before joining IGF in 2013. He works in and around Kent, Sussex, and London, and travels regularly to meet clients on site
Aman joined IGF as Regional Sales Director in January 2017. Aman has a passion for understanding how SMEs operate, their trade cycles and funding gaps to structure solutions that meet their cashflow requirements and future growth aspirations.
Upon leaving University, Aman joined Barclays Corporate in a Relationship Management role managing corporate clients for over 8 years. In 2014, Aman joined Bibby Trade & International as a Relationship Manager where he proactively managed a portfolio of complex Trade and Invoice Finance Clients. In the latter part of his career with Bibby, Aman undertook a structuring and underwriting role for new Trade & International business.
Aman’s qualifications include a Certificate of Finance in International Trade from the International Factors Group, a Diploma in Banking and Management from the IFS School of Finance and a Marketing Management degree from Aston University. Aman has also recently gone on to complete the ABFA Certificate qualification.
Chris is our regional sales director for the Home counties and London and joined in March 2017. Originally a qualified Psychology Graduate, Chris now has nearly 20 years’ experience working in the Invoice Finance sector for some of the largest independent providers, in Abbey, Close and Skipton.
Chris has been providing facilities for SME business looking at supporting their growth and meeting their funding requirements over this time and he has extensive knowledge of the sector and the processes that are involved in providing Invoice discounting and factoring facilities to both corporate and independent clients.
Clive is our Regional Sales Director for the North West
Born in Lancashire, Clive has lived in Cumbria for the past 15 years.
A highly experienced finance professional, Clive has worked in commercial finance for over 30 years and has held senior roles within several invoice finance providers as well as commercial banking.
Clive joined us in April 2017 from Armstrong Watson where he was part of the Corporate Finance team and understands all too well the challenges that businesses face when it comes to finding the most appropriate finance solution.
In his spare time Clive is manager of a successful amateur football team, famous for their pink strip, and enjoys the theatre, various sports and live music.
Danielle joined IGF in April 2017 to offer a range of expertise across the different sectors.
Having begun her career at RBS on the Flying Start Programme in 2008 working within the business banking team in Leeds. She has worked in financial services for more than eight years, for providers including Aldermore, Bibby, NatWest and RBS.
Danielle has extensive knowledge in many areas of commercial finance including the financing of construction projects, Invoice Finance and Trade Finance.
Simon brings 25 Years’ experience in the Finance industry with the last 16 years in the Asset based lending and Invoice Finance industry.
Joining IGF in April 2017, Simon initially started his professional life working for a number of small accountancy practices in Coventry before moving into Industry and training to be a Management Accountant.
After working for a variety of large corporate businesses (including the UK division of Robert Half International) Simon moved into the Asset based lending sector in 2000; initially as an Auditor/Surveyor for GMAC Commercial Finance before moving into a new business role in 2002. As well as working for GMAC, Simon has also worked for RBS, Metro Bank SME Finance and Ultimate Finance.
Outside of work Simon is a keen golfer and enjoys cycling and running, completing the London Marathon in 2012 (one of his biggest personal accomplishments).
Stephanie is our Regional Sales Director for Scotland. In her role she is responsible for Business Development activities.
Born in Northern Ireland, moving to Scotland for University, Stephanie has worked in Scotland for the best part of a decade. She has a wealth of knowledge gained in the Invoice Finance arena to drive Business forward.
A Successful career to date, Stephanie having previously worked with Bibby Financial Services, is driven by understanding and helping companies achieve their growth aspirations. Specialising in Invoice Finance Stephanie also assists in promoting the UK ABL offering.
