Alex Insuli

Deputy Head of Risk

Alex joined IGF in October 2019 as a Risk Analyst, before progressing into his current role, the group’s Operational Risk Manager, in July 2021. He is responsible for helping to develop IGF’s internal processes and governance, as well as portfolio and risk reporting.

After having graduated with a Business and Finance degree from Bournemouth University, Alex started his career in consumer finance, including spending time working in New York, before then transitioning within the financial services sector into the ABL industry with IGF.

Alex Jones

Financial Controller

Alex joined IGF in June 2018 after having spent most of his career at G4S. Here he gained exposure to business partnering and several other commercial initiatives that ultimately led him to the Head of Contract Accounting position managing a team of 20 and a £500m portfolio.

The move to IGF was inspired by what they do – supporting SMEs with their growth ambitions. As Financial Controller, he oversees the Financial Reporting and Treasury functions, and was recently appointed chairman of the Training, Diversity, and Inclusion committee.

Alex is a qualified accountant with CIMA.

Andrew Hey

Head of Underwriting

Andrew joined IGF in July 2018 to manage the Group’s Underwriting team

Originally graduating in Engineering, Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant and then gained many years of experience in ABL, initially with GE Commercial Finance and more recently as Head Of ABL Underwriting with Shawbrook Bank. Prior to Shawbrook he worked at Centric Commercial Finance throughout the period of growth that culminated in the acquisition by the Bank.

Andrew’s experience is in analyzing and structuring ABL transactions across a broad range of sectors and complexities; typically event driven opportunities including acquisitions, restructurings and turnarounds.

Bethan Hughes

Client Manager

Bethan is a Client Manager based in the South of England. Having graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BA degree in History and Politics, she previously worked for a financial advisory and investment management firm as a Business Analyst before joining IGF in May 2020. 

Bob Whiffin

Senior Client Manager

Bob joined IGF in Dec-22 as a Client Manager supporting and managing Clients spread from NW England up to NE Scotland. 

His career began almost 20yrs ago in Asset Based Lending, working in Client Management/Portfolio and Field Audit/Survey. Since then, he has worked in Asset Leasing and Business Process Outsourcing, in roles covering Operations and Risk Management. He is based between Manchester and Leeds.

Calvin Beetar

Senior Surveyor

Having joined IGF in January 2020 as a Senior Surveyor, Calvin has since transitioned into the underwriting team while still completing new business surveys.

Calvin brings a wealth of insolvency and turnaround experience having worked in the industry for 12 years. With a specific focus on debt recovery and debt management in an ABL environment.

Francesca Liasides

Head of HR

Francesca is a qualified HR manager with a MA in Human Resources Management and Employment Law. She oversees and manages the HR function at IGF.

With over 15 years HR experience in a variety of sectors such as luxury retail, banking, media, and premiership football, she has successfully led businesses through periods of developmental growth and organisational change, promoting best people, practice, and equality. She joined as HR Manager in February 2022 and is looking forward to a fruitful future with IGF where she can contribute to its further success and growth plans.

Hannah Sunley

Compliance Officer

Having joined IGF in January 2017 as an ABL Transaction Co-ordinator, Hannah has since transitioned into the compliance function and is now the Compliance Officer for the Group.

Hannah originally graduated in Law and qualified as a Solicitor in 2011. She then began her AML journey gaining experience working at GE Commercial Finance before joining IGF.

Jamie O’Neill

Business Development Director

Jamie joined IGF in July 2021 as an ABL Business Development Director in London and the South East.

He has over 12 years’ experience in Asset Based Lending, having started his career in 2008 at RBS Invoice Finance on their Fast Track Development. Since then Jamie has spent time with Aldermore Bank, ABN AMRO and more recently BREAL Zeta.

During his career he has developed a strong track record in structuring complex ABL facilities across receivables, inventory, plant and machinery and property, supporting clients, sponsors and introducers in the lower mid-market space.

Jamie has an applied diploma in corporate banking from the London Institute of Banking and Finance.

Jim Millar

Head of Risk

Jim is a veteran of the industry having spent many years in senior risk related roles at Barclays and GE Commercial Finance, this last role as Head of Portfolio. At IGF Jim was Senior Underwriter, recently moving to be Head of Portfolio, responsible for managing risk across a growing book and ensuring the high level of customer service our clients have become accustomed too is maintained.

John Allbrook

Chairman

John is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Cellesce, a biotechnology start-up, and is a Board Mentor with Critical Eye, the peer-to-peer Board community.

Since leaving GE Capital in 2004 John has built an impressive track record working with private equity and AIM-listed businesses in both the financial services and technology sectors. As CEO of GoIndustry plc, John was instrumental in helping the company to secure an AIM listing. As Executive Chairman of Syscap, he grew revenues and EBITDA significantly. Enabling the successful sale of the business to the Wesleyan Mutual Assurance Society.

At IGF, John will be providing counsel on how IGF can best support the growth ambitions of SMEs, many of which are backed by the UK’s leading Private Equity houses. 

John Onslow

Executive Director

John Onslow is an industry veteran and brings a wealth of experience to his role as Executive Director and former Chief Executive of the IGF Group. In April 2016, John led the Management Buy Out/Buy In of IGF, and brought with him colleagues to develop the Asset Based Lending side of the business.

He is a former Chairman of ABFA (The Asset Based Finance Association) and co-founder of Centric Commercial Finance, where he was CEO through to its sale to Shawbrook Bank. Under Shawbrook Bank’s ownership, he was a member of the executive team which ran the bank. Before founding Centric, John was COO of GE Commercial Finance and Deputy Group MD of NMB-Heller.

John Savage

ABL Director, Yorkshire & North East

John joined IGF in December 2022 as an ABL Director based in Leeds delivering IGFs new business activities across Yorkshire and the North East.

He has over 25 years’ experience in the ABL industry, previously working at GE Capital for 12 years in both their Commercial and Corporate ABL teams as well as HSBC before that. Following the exit of GE Capital from the UK ABL market John has held senior ABL sales roles at Aldermore Bank and Close Brothers.

John has wider ranging experience structuring and delivering complex ABL transactions supporting both management teams and private equity in a wide range of transactions from MBO and MBIs, acquisitions, refinances as well as turnaround situations.

John Savage
Jon Hughes

Director, London

Jon joined IGF as part of the acquisition team in April 2016.

Jon has over 20 years’ experience in both the Invoice Finance and Asset-Based Lending sector. During his career, he has worked for NMB Heller, GE Capital and, latterly, RBS Asset Based Lending. Jon has been involved in deals of all sizes and degrees of complexity in the UK and the US.

Kalvin Ovsiowitz

Underwriter

Kalvin joined IGF in 2020, initially as an Underwriting Assistant having graduated from the University of Bristol with a BSc in Economics with Study Abroad; during his penultimate year he studied BSECON Economics in the Philadelphia.

He is now an Underwriter where he works primarily on the credit approval and due diligence process, as well assisting the Deal team with the onboarding of new clients. Alongside his Underwriting role, Kalvin is also part of the Compliance team where he works closely with the Compliance Officer to administer and operate the Compliance function of the business.    

Kiran Sahota

Senior Underwriter

Kiran joined IGF in November 2021 as the Senior Underwriter. He has over 15 years’ experience in Corporate Banking, Risk Management and Asset Based Lending which has included underwriting bilateral and syndicated facilities for domestic and multi-jurisdictional businesses. As the Senior Underwriter, Kiran is involved in underwriting new investment opportunities across a range of sectors with varying complexities.

Prior to joining IGF, he held senior Credit Risk Management and Underwriting roles most recently with Pension Insurance Corporation and but also with Landsbanki Commercial Finance, Caterpillar Finance and Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice. He has a Bachelor of Science in Banking and International Finance from the Bayes Business School.

Kirsty Wilgoss

Underwriter

Kirsty joined IGF in 2020 as an Underwriter. She has over 30 years’ experience in the ABL Industry having worked in mainstream banks and also independents including NMB Heller and GE Commercial.

She has held various roles throughout her career, including Operations, Client Management, Leadership and has been involved in various projects.  

Louise Lee

Relationship Director

Louise began her 20 year career in financial services at RBS, spanning branch banking, leadership, business and commercial banking, and project work, leading her to a senior relationship manager role within both the invoice finance team and healthcare specialist lending. She joined IGF in January 2020 to continue her career as senior client manager, managing and supporting an ABL portfolio of clients based in the Midlands.

Marie Palmer

Senior Client Manager

Marie has worked in the Invoice Finance and the ABL sector for 25 years, with 20 years as client manager. She worked for RBS Invoice Finance for 20 years where she covered numerous roles, Eurosales Finance where she also did project work in Paris for 1 year, Siemens Invoice Finance and latterly Bibby Corporate.  Marie is based in Cleethorpes,  predominately covering the Humber and North East region.

Matt Ascott

Chief Information Officer

Matt joined IGF in March 2018 as Chief Information Officer. He leads the business change agenda, development of technology and ongoing IT operations.

Matt’s career started in accountancy having gained his degree in accountancy before moving into the world of IT.  He spent several years consulting in financial systems across a diverse range of organisations and then moved into financial services where his experience spans 18 years, with exposure across all areas of IT and Change in both regulated and non-regulated environments.

His most recent role was leading delivery and innovation for the Business Finance division of Shawbrook Bank.

Michelle Bloomfield

Client Support Team Leader

Michelle Joined IGF in January 2001, and has held several roles across the business, now as Team Leader, overseeing and managing the Client support and Reconciliation functions and is focussed on ensuring IGF maintains the high level of client service standards we set ourselves.

Mike Fletcher

Commercial Director

Having joined IGF in 2017 Mike has spent time across both Business Development and Portfolio/Relationship Management.

In recent times, following a period as Head of Portfolio, with focus on assisting and supporting IGF’s ever growing client base, Mike now leads the national origination team as Commercial Director.

Key areas of commercial expertise include structuring and delivering ABL facilities between £1m and £25m in support of event driven opportunities, including MBO’s/MBI’s, acquisitions, refinances for growth and turnaround.

Mike’s experience in the independent funding market ensures that maximising liquidity and minimising execution risk are key areas of focus for each transaction.

Previous employment includes Centric Commercial Finance and Shawbrook Bank.

Miles Burgess

ABL Director, Manchester

Miles Joined IGF in October 2019 as a Client Manager and subsequently was promoted to Senior Client Manager in March 22. His move to an ABL Director role will see him covering Central and South Manchester along with nearby regions in North-West. 

He has been in the invoice finance sector for over 20 years predominantly in Manchester working for City Invoice Finance, Bibby Factors (Manchester) Ltd, Positive Cashflow Finance (now Time Finance) and now also in ABL sector. Miles has a Wide range of experience having worked with SME’s across various sectors through changing business cycles.

With is breadth of knowledge and experience, Miles is well-placed to offer our full suite of ABL products to SME’s and mid-market businesses in the Central and South Manchester region.

Oliver Smith

Associate ABL Director

Following his studies at the University of Manchester, Oliver went on to begin his career in Tier 1 investment banks, working at Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. Here he worked in the Fixed Income Bonds Team which oversaw $10bn of trades per day settling in all major international markets.

Oliver moved back to Birmingham in search of an independent firm, where he could see growth potential and ultimately work in the SME space. Since joining IGF in September 2019, he has worked on a number of transactions, delivering ABL deals across the Midlands working alongside Paul Edmeades.

Paul Edmeades

ABL Director, Midlands

Paul joined IGF in February 2017 to head up and develop the Underwriting Team for the Group. Having achieved this objective and to support the wider growth aspirations of IGF he agreed in April 2018 to transition into a Commercial role and is now responsible for all new business activity across the Midlands region, where he has lived for the last 13 years.

Key areas of commercial expertise include structuring and delivering ABL facilities for event driven opportunities, including MBO’s/MBI’s, acquisitions, refinances for growth and turnaround.

Paul has over 20 years experience in the Asset Based Lending industry and has held senior Risk, Portfolio and Commercial roles, most recently with Shawbrook Bank but also with GE Capital and NMB Heller.

Richard Spielbichler

ABL Director, North of England

Richard joined IGF in August 2016 to lead our business development activity for the North of England. Before this, Richard was with GE Capital’s Asset Based Lending business for 12 years. He has also worked in business development roles within the Bank and Asset-Based Lending functions of RBS Group.

Richard is an Asset Based Lending professional with more than 20 years’ experience helping companies grow using bespoke funding solutions that increase working capital. These include Management Buy Outs, acquisitions, turnaround finance and refinance.

Simon Jacobs

Relationship Director

Simon joined in October 2016 to develop and manage the Group’s client portfolio. Simon has been in the invoice finance and ABL sector for over 20 years working for NMB-Heller, GE Capital and Centric Commercial Finance (now Shawbrook).

Simon has a wide range of experience having worked with SME’s across various sectors through changing business cycles.

Stephen Moore

Chief Financial Officer

Stephen is a qualified Chartered Accountant and manages the Finance and Treasury functions in IGF.

After working in the Asset Based Lending sector for 8 years with NMB-Heller, Stephen has worked for many years in senior finance roles in Financial Services, initially with RBS Insurance and then with a private equity backed Life Insurance company, where he successfully led a team through a period of rapid growth and change, ultimately leading to a listing on the London Stock Exchange. He joined IGF as a Consultant following the acquisition in 2016, and was appointed as Head of Finance in May 2017.

Steven Chait

CEO

Steven joined IGF as Chief Executive Officer in September 2023.

Steven qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Arthur Andersen before joining Burdale Financial Limited, one of the UK’s first comprehensive ABL businesses. He held many roles at Burdale including Accounting, Portfolio and Head of Originations. During his career at Burdale, there were multiple owners including Private Equity, Wachovia Bank, Bank of Ireland and latterly Wells Fargo where he led the ABL division for 10 years. Under his leadership the business grew substantially and is now a major player in the bank led ABL market.

More recently, Steven worked at Blazehill Capital as an Operating Partner, completing two high profile transactions.

The move to IGF is a perfect opportunity to deploy his skills successfully in the next stage of the IGF journey.

Vanessa LeFevre

Senior Client Manager

Vanessa joined in 2018 as a Senior Client Manager, based in the south of England.

Vanessa has been in the invoice finance and ABL sector for over 30 years working for Barclays, RBS, NMB-Heller, GE Capital and Centric Commercial Finance (now Shawbrook).
